Post Placement

Post placement visits are required in most international adoptions. The number of required visits may vary depending on the foreign country's requirements. You should schedule a social worker visit within a span of three to six months after you arrive home. When the post placement evaluation is completed, it will be translated and sent to the foreign country.

The purpose of these visits is to gather information and provide guidance and support. Post Placement reports are required by most foreign countries to update on the status of the child and the adoptive parents. On your part, the social worker would like to see how your adopted child interacts with you and how he adopts to his new environment.
