What are you options

Years ago, adoptions were done in total secrecy. There was no contact between the child's parents and the adoptive parents. Today, several options for adoption have been developed. Adoption Services Worldwide will be more than glad to assist you in whichever adoption type you prefer:

  • Open Adoption. It is an adoption option that allows for an ongoing relationship among the birth family, adoptive family, and the adopted child. Fully open adoptions often include extended family members such as birth grandparents and siblings. (visit www.openadoptions.com for more information)
  • Semi-Open Adoption. An adoption in which you and your child’s pre-adoptive parents may exchange non-identifying information. After the child is placed in the adoptive home, you can keep in touch with the adoptive family through letters, pictures or other communications sent through Adoption Services Worldwide.
  • Closed Adoption. In a closed adoption, you and the adoptive parents will not meet, do not plan to have any contact after the child is placed, and will not share any identifying information. Every state has different laws about the release of identifying information. Adoption Services Worldwide will act as the intermediary between the two parties.

As you decide on the type of adoption you will prefer, keep in mind the welfare of your baby. Which among the three do you think will be best for him? You might as well talk it over with a close friend or a relative to evaluate the ups and downs of the different options. Should you need professional advice, Adoption Services Worldwide has a qualified adoptions counselor who is willing to aid you in making the right decision for your child.
